Hi All, We are having a trail work day on Saturday November 5 at 8:30am to build a 30' bridge on the A1 Success Trail. Access is via pickup truck (no ATV access since season is over). We need to do the following: - Remove decking from old bridge - Remove wood beams (excavator) - Place new steel beams (excavator) - Assemble the steel cross bracing in between the steel beams using 3/4" bolts. - Install PT stringers on top of the steel beams - Install 4" X 6" PT decking using 6" Timberlok screws - Install abutment boards using nail guns - Install runners using nail guns
Please bring the following tools if you have them: Lunch, gloves, hammer, crowbar or steel bar to remove decking, battery operated drill with extra batteries, battery operated saws-all with metal cutting blades.
Starting at the Big Apple gas station in downtown Berlin , go north on Unity Street (which turn into Hutchins Street) for 1.15 miles. Turn right onto Success Pond Road and go 3.91 miles. Take a left onto South Fork Rd (through two Jersey barriers) and go 1 mile. Park at end of road where it meets the A1 trail and walk to the bridge site which is on your left.
