  • Bridge site on Rt. 16 just south of Pontook Dam

Hi All,
We are having a trail work day on Saturday August 20th at 8:30am to build a 14' bridge.

We need to do the following:
- Assemble the steel cross bracing in between the steel beams using 3/4" bolts.
- Install PT stringers on top of the steel beams using 1/2" carriage bolts
- Install 4" X 6" PT decking using 6" Timberlok screws
- Install abutment boards using nail guns
- Install runners using nail guns

Please bring the following tools if you have them:
Hammer, crowbar, crescent wrench, battery operated drill with extra batteries.

To get there, take Rt. 110A to Rt. 16.
Then go north on Rt. 16 for 1.3 miles.
The bridge site is visible from Rt. 16 and there is a small pullout area for parking across from the bridge.
If you have a 4WD, you can take a left on Dummer Pond Road, go .2 miles and take a right on the trail and go .21 miles to the bridge site.
If you have an ATV, you can drive to the bridge site by taking Corridor A to Dummer Pond Road, go South on Dummer Pond Road for .3 miles and then take a left onto the new trail and go .21 miles to the bridge site.

Please see attached map for details.

We hope to see you there.  This is a major task that must get done on Saturday to keep this project moving.
The plan is to have trucks using this bridge to deliver gravel on Monday.
