Therefore we are going to have a short trail work day on Sunday 10/24 at 8:30am with all work completed by noon.
I already spent a couple of hours fishing out dozens of logs from the wetland. These can simply be handed up to the bridge, put in a wheelbarrow and dumped in the woods.
The temporary boardwalk needs to be taken apart with sledge hammers and bars. I found that hitting it with a heavy sledge hammer breaks the nails loose and then it can be easily pried apart. Then the boards need to be carried to one end of the bridge or the other so they can be taken out by trailer.
We will meet at the southern gravel pit on Bell Hill Road and then travel to the work site together. Thanks,
