We are having our 9th trail work day on Saturday September 9, 2017. This work day will be devoted to building 2 bridges on the new Head Pond Connector Trail.
We will be meeting at Gord’s Store in Milan and at 8:30am then going out to a log yard off Rt. 110B to start the project at 9:00am.
Here are directions for meeting us at Gord’s Corner Store; From Rt. 3 in Groveton, take Rt. 110 east 13.5 miles to the junction of Rt. 110 and Rt. 110A and you will see Gord’s Corner Store. Gord’s has coffee, breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches so it is a great place to stock up for the trail work day.
For those going directly to the work site, take, Rt. 110A from Gord's Store towards Cedar Pond. Go past Cedar Pond and take a right onto Rt. 110B. Follow Rt. 110B for 1.25 miles and look for a gravel road on your right side at the bottom of a dip on Rt. 110B. There should be two cement blocks with a chain at the head of this road.
Follow the gravel road downhill 1.9 miles until you get to a log yard. We will be working at the Southwest corner of the log yard.
We need volunteers to carry and install decking and runners. Please bring gloves, hammer, pry bar water and lunch since this project will take at least 4 hours to complete.
If you have an ATV, please bring it. If you do not have an ATV, you can hitch a ride with one of our other volunteers.
Free accommodations are available for anyone coming from out of town. If you are planning to attend, please call or email.
