We are having our 7th trail work day on Saturday July 22nd, 2017. Please note we will not be working for the first two weekends in August so please try to attend this trail work day!
We will be meeting at Gord’s Store in Milan and at 8:30am then going out to the end of Head Pond Road to get started at 9:00am.
Here are directions for meeting us at Gord’s Corner Store; From Rt. 3 in Groveton, take Rt. 110 east 13.5 miles to the junction of Rt. 110 and Rt. 110A and you will see Gord’s Corner Store. Gord’s has coffee, breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches so it is a great place to stock up for the trail work day.
For those going directly to the work site, take, Rt. 110 to Head Pond Road (located .4 miles west of the old Jericho Motorsports). Follow Head Pond Road north 3.5 miles. At this point, the snowmobile trail turns off the main road to the right. DO NOT FOLLOW THIS SNOWMOBILE TRAIL. Keep taking left forks until the road ends in a log yard ¼ mile further ahead.
From this log yard, we will be taking ATV’s going due north alongside of the newly constructed ATV trail. The new trail is too soft to ride on, so we will be following a bypass trail through the woods. The bypass trail eventually merges back onto the main trail and you need to go another mile to reach the section of trail we are working on.
We need volunteers to cut and throw brush so we can widen this trail so an excavator can fit down it. Please bring gloves, water and lunch since this project will take at least 6 hours to complete. If you have a chain saw, please bring it along. We also recommend tick and bug spray.
If you have an ATV, please bring it. If you do not have an ATV, you can hitch a ride with one of our other volunteers.
If you are planning to attend, please call or email.
